As I woke up at 6:00 am for a shower I can see the sun coming up. The dark mountains are becoming lighter as I see the orange, green, and reds from the trees. The sky is orange, pink, and a baby blue. I hear birds singing their songs. I hear vehicles from the neighbors leaving for work. My bus arrives at 7:20am. As I walk I can hear dogs barking at kids slowly walking towards the bus stop. The sun is now up. I can see the trees and animals a lot better now.
When I finally reach school, I see everyone’s friendly faces. My town, Narrows Virginia, has only around 3,000 people residing here. We pretty much know each other really well. You see many different types of people in my little town. You see the younger children out playing around the yards. You have your pre-teens on laptops, game systems, desktop computers, tablets, and cell phones. Your teenagers are driving with friends to the movies, mall, bowling alley, and other houses. The adults are working to take care of their children. The elders are sitting on the front porch gossiping to one another.
Older woman: Did you hear about our friend from school dyeing?
Other Woman: No, but that is ashamed she left her husband and kids.
Older woman: Yes but she is definitely better off now she had lung cancer.
Other woman: That is true.
We are all really close to family and friends. We love laughing and speaking to one another. Camping on the creek bank is an old family tradition around here. We have many churches around here for different religions. When I finally get home from school I will help mom cook. We make fried potatoes, green beans, rolls, and pork chops. I will then clean up the house for my mother and do my homework then shower after I help the kids. The street lights come on and the sky goes to a dark blue color with very little clouds. When you look up you see millions of stars and the moon shining bright. My town may have gossip but who doesn’t? We are a very peaceful and fun place. We are very family oriented.
